Ironman and Spirit Awards
One of the teams greatest traditions, the Chicago Rush recognize Chicagoland’s best young football players and cheerleaders for their work on and off the field with its Chicago Rush Youth Football Ironman of the Year award and Adrenaline Rush Spirit Award.
The Ironman of the Year award will recognize one player from each participating youth football team who best exemplifies sportsmanship, leadership, and on-field productivity. The award was named after the Arena Football League’s Ironman style in which players perform in all three facets of the game – offense, defense and special teams.
Similarly, the Adrenaline Rush Spirit Award winners will be chosen for their outstanding spirit, support and leadership abilities. Recipients will be honored at the Rush 2012 home opener.
Each team’s winner will be chosen at the conclusion of their season by their coaches and teammates. Once selected, coaches are responsible for submitting the winner’s name to the Chicago Rush. The winner will receive a congratulatory letter from Rush head coach Bob McMillen or dance coordinator Gloria Esposito, an award certificate and two complimentary tickets to the 2012 Chicago Rush home opener where they will be honored before the game.
In 2011, more than 7,100 young athletes from 30 youth football and cheerleading programs successfully participated in the Ironman and Adrenaline Rush Spirit Award programs.
